At the center of the 8,000 square meter grounds of Villa Sawah Lebak is the breathtaking, twenty-five meter half-Olympic infinity swimming pool. Recessed into the middle terrace of the property, this spacious recreational facility is perfect for everything from an afternoon swim to cool off from a day’s exploration around Bali to training for competitive swimming.
Measuring an enormous twenty-five meters by ten meters, the half-Olympic pool at Villa Sawah Lebak is completely finished with emerald-green Javanese stone, designed as a luxury resort-style infinity pool with water cascading beautifully over the stone pool coping. The relaxing sound of moving water adds to the tranquil ambience of this wonderful recreational area. The pool features panoramic views of the lush bamboo grove which lines the scenic brook flowing through the lower terrace of the Villa Sawah Lebak grounds.
Also enhancing the luxury resort atmosphere of the villa pool complex is the addition of a manicured planter box and a mini waterfall which cascades into the water beside the set of stone steps, providing easy access to the pool.
The water of the Villa Sawah Lebak pool sparkles with the clarity of a refreshing mountain spring, filtered and scrubbed by a state-of-the-art pool filtration system that is discreetly housed adjacent to the spillover area of the infinity pool walls and uses no chlorine.
At twilight, the recessed lighting system illuminates the pool to create a magical effect – perfect for an evening swim beneath a sparkling galaxy of twinkling stars. The magical evening ambience of the Villa Sawah Lebak poolside is further enhanced by the glowing fire cauldron, forged from rugged bronze and elevated with a stone column at the midpoint of the pool.
Measuring more than 200 square meters, the L-shaped pool deck of Villa Sawah Lebak is arranged with day beds and beach umbrellas to create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere around the twenty-five meter pool area. Finished with antique ironwood, the expansive pool deck fronts the beautiful pool pavilion, the centerpiece of the pool complex which also houses the pilates / yoga studio, as well as the gym and private bath.
The design of the pool pavilion draws its inspiration from the iconic architecture of the Indonesian archipelago, featuring a traditional roof of alang-alang – a variety of grass which has been used to thatch buildings in Bali for centuries. The main entrance to the pool pavilion is a wonderfully airy space, lined at the back with the riverstone wall of the main structure, yet completely open on the other three sides to provide panoramic views of the pool, the main residence, and the villa grounds – as well as permitting a refreshing breeze to flow. The informal atmosphere of this relaxing space is accented with an antique round table of teak wood, chairs arranged around its Javanese marble countertop and decorated with fresh fruit of the season – a perfect place for lunch or breakfast after a dip in the pool. The back wall of the Pool Pavilion is lined with comfortable couches in the style of the furnishings within the Outdoor Living Pavilion and accented with a recessed alcove featuring traditional Balinese statue of stone. Traditional Javanese board games such as Dakon are also available and provide a colorful decoration for the ironwood coffee table which completes the Pool Pavilion entrance area.
Located behind the feature wall of the Pool Pavilion and featuring its own unique atmosphere and private garden views, the Pilates / Yoga studio measures a spacious four meters by six meters and is finished with a beautiful parquette wood floor. A variety of yoga mats, freeweights, and pilates training equipment is available for a nearly infinite variety of exercise programs. This airy living & exercise space is also accented with a recessed alcove for artwork and includes an air-conditioning unit for climate-controlled exercise programs. A sliding glass door opens this fitness space to the adjacent terraced lawn and lush bamboo forest below.
The Pilates / Yoga studio is also easily convertible to another bedroom to bring the maximum total of bedrooms possible within the villa property to ten.
Adjacent to the Pilates / Yoga Studio and also within the Pool Pavilion is the spacious Weight Training & Fitness Studio measuring a full fifty square meters. This beautiful space features a full selection of exercise equipment such as weight-training and aerobic machines such as a treadmill, as well as free weights. The floor is finished with parquette wood, and a set of sliding glass doors open up to allow a pleasant breeze to flow during workouts, also giving views of the lush bamboo forest which lines the eastern edge of the villa property. Sunrise is especially magical in this room, with a beautiful golden light often filtering through the morning mist. Guests also have the option of a climate-controlled workout by using the air conditioner recessed into the back wall of the Fitness Studio.
The Fitness Studio can also be converted into an additional bedroom if space is needed for more guests.
Located just within the entrance of the Pool Pavilion is a fully-equipped Ensuite Bathroom, featuring a large shower with beautiful views of the bamboo forest and East Grounds of Villa Sawah Lebak. Designed for easy access for bathers using the Half-Olympic pool, diners using the Pool Pavilion for a meal, as well as guests exercising within the Pilates / Yoga studio or Weight Training and Fitness Studio, this bathroom can also be used as a residence bathroom if the two fitness studios are converted into bedrooms for additional guests.
